Turnaround times strongly depend on the number of samples, microRNAs and technology platform. E.g. for an average qPCR screening project with less than 50 samples turnaround times usually range between 3 to 6 weeks. However, please contact us for an estimate for your specific microRNA project.

There are two general approaches to studying microRNA levels: first, if there is no published data on miRNAs in the context of your model system or biological question, we recommend to perform a screening experiment to measure as many miRNAs as possible. Next-generation sequencing is the platform of choice for this purpose, as it is cost-effective, and generates unbiased data on microRNAs as well as other types of non-coding RNAs. Second, if there is evidence for a specific set of microRNAs to be involved in the biological mechanisms or disease you are studying, a targeted using qPCR panels is a good approach. We can help you with the design and selection of microRNAs for this purpose if you contact us for a free consultation to discuss your project.

The sequence homology of microRNAs between mammalian species is generally high, so that also conserved function of microRNAs between animal models and humans can be expected. We can provide next-generation-sequencing analysis for all non-human samples for which a genome and annotated microRNA data are available. This includes all rodent species, non-human primates, pigs, cats and dogs. For other non-human organisms, contact us to discuss your Project.

Data analysis reports are generally customized to the specific needs of our customers. Our reports always include quality control data (see tech note 05) , statistical analysis, and grafical presentation of results. In case of NGS data, we can offer analysis using our internal bioinformatics pipeline –  Download an examplary NGS service report here.

We can work with a range of biological specimens – the supported sample types and required amounts are specified here on our Website. We are also happy to establish new protocols, so if your sample type is not listed on our website, get in touch to discuss a customer-tailored solution.

TAmiRNA services is located in Vienna, Austria. Samples must be shipped frozen (on dry ice) to our laboratory. We recommend shipment on Mondays or Tuesdays to ensure timely arrival prior to weekends. To obtain additional information, sample submission forms and experiment support please contact us.

The costs vary depending on the type and number of samples, number of microRNAs and the technology platform please contact us to discuss your requirements and we will return with a project proposal within 5 business days, with detailed information on cost and timelines.

You will receive the results of your study in the form of a PowerPoint report (see question 4) per Email. In addition, raw data and figures can be sent per Email as well. Optionally we can encrypt the files to ensure maximum security. All raw data, instrument files, etc. will be made available using a flash drive or by secure data transfer, using the method of choice of our customers.
