TAmiRNA has joined forces with the Medical University of Vienna to develop an innovative microRNA test (hepatomiR®) to improve safety in liver surgery. The pioneering qPCR-based test is founded on original research by two of the university’s associate professors, Dr. Alice Assinger, Head of the Vienna Platelet Lab, and Dr. Patrick Starlinger, who heads the university’s TELL Translational and Experimental Liver Laboratory. Their work on the mechanisms of circulating microRNAs complements original work done by TAmiRNA over the past decade. Urgent medical need This work has resulted in an easy-to-use CE-IVD-certified qPCR test for standardized determination of hepatocyte- and endothelial-derived microRNAs. The individual miRNA levels are converted into a liver function score (P-Score) to ascertain a patient´s [...]

Congratulations to Victor Ambros and Gary Ruvkun, this year’s Nobel Laureates, for their pioneering discovery of microRNAs—tiny but powerful molecules that regulate gene expression and have reshaped our understanding of biology, aging, cancer, and development. At TAmiRNA, we’ve been deeply inspired by this breakthrough and have dedicated over 10 years to harnessing the potential of microRNAs. We’ve developed cutting-edge diagnostic tools that leverage microRNAs as biomarkers, with our regulatory approved hepatomiR® device leading the way in improving liver cancer patient care across Europe. Our passion for innovation has resulted in over 100 scientific publications, and we’re proud to contribute to advancing this transformative field. The Nobel Prize serves as a reminder of the impact that these discoveries can [...]

hepatomiR kit

2023-03-10T10:14:05+01:00May 26th, 2022|biomarkers, hepatomiR kit, Liver disease, microRNA|Comments Off on hepatomiR kit

TAmiRNA has launched its latest hepatomiR® CE-IVD testing kit that can measure levels of three important liver-enriched microRNAs (liver miRNAs) in human blood to determine a patient’s liver function. TAmiRNA’s microRNA-based hepatomiR® kit is worldwide the first approved CE-IVD test to measure microRNA liver biomarkers in human plasma. The new microRNA-based hepatomiR® technology represents a milestone previously restricted to research use only (RUO) testing. click here for more Information on the hepatomiR-kit
